Toddlers
What we do and why we do it for toddlers…
As your child bounces, giggles and spins through a Rhythm and Rhyme session the best kind of learning is taking place – active and fun!
The programme links with the national ‘early years foundation stage’ framework which celebrates the development of young children as healthy and confident individuals, as creative and competent learners and as skillful communicators.
During song time children begin to build up their own repertoire of favourite songs expressing themselves through movement.
Drum time is pretty noisy for grown ups but children can explore and learn about sound, respond to the rhythm and start to recite number names.
Dance time provides opportunities for larger movements as children swirl ribbons and streamers.
Parachute play
Playing with the parachute develops confidence, turn taking and is lots of fun!
Children love to explore and learn how sounds can be changed during instrument time.
Listening time
More commonly known as ‘bubble time’, listening time provides an opportunity to widen children’s experience of music from different times and cultures and more importantly for many, blow, catch and pop the biggest bubbles ever!
